5th Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative Conference

Genomic Medicine implementation in low-resource settings

May 6-8, 2020, Santiago, Chile

The 5th Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative Conference will be organized in Santiago, Chile, May 6-8, 2020.

The meeting will be organized by the Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative and the Universidad del Desarrollo as the local host and the Golden Helix Foundation, as G2MC partner. The 5th Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative Conference is the first to be organized in South America, following the successful events in the United States in 2014, in Singapore in 2015, in Athens in 2017 and in Cape Town in 2018 and will focus on the implementation of Genomic Medicine in low resource settings.

Leaders in Genomic Medicine across the globe will be attending this highly interactive meeting to define collaborative projects and strategies that will serve the global community to use genomic advances to improve clinical care. Representatives from the developed and the developing world will share challenges and strategies to overcome them. In addition we will be convening industry and leaders of large genomic consortia to engage in the dialog about the potential to impact health care delivery.

We are aware of the current unrest in Chile and are following the situation very closely. Our priority is the safety of our meeting attendees. With 6 months to the meeting, we are hopeful that the political situation will be resolved. Local G2MC members are keeping us abreast of events in Santiago. We are also in the process of examining alternative venues in South America should it be necessary to move the meeting location. We will be in frequent touch with our speakers and meeting registrants and should it be necessary to change locations, we will do so by January 2020.
